About

Small details decide who gets left out.

Every digital product is made of thousands of small details. A button a screen reader can't name, a form a keyboard can't reach, text too faint to read. When one is out of place, someone can't finish what they came to do. SiteAligned exists to find those details and help teams get every one of them right.

Ryan Makatura

Hi, I'm Ryan. I've worked in digital accessibility for more than five years, auditing websites, web applications and internal software with JAWS, NVDA, the keyboard and automated tools, then working alongside teams until the fixes ship. I'm certified by the Department of Homeland Security as a Section 508 Trusted Tester.

My work spans private companies and public agencies. I've audited enterprise software for a global technology company, run the digital accessibility program for a Colorado public-safety agency under HB21-1110, led the redesign of its websites to WCAG 2.1 AA and trained more than 450 of its staff. I've also brought a city website up to WCAG 2.1 AA and assessed a collaboration platform against Section 508 and the ADA.

I started SiteAligned because software vendors selling to public agencies were being asked for accessibility reports they couldn't produce credibly, and agencies were left trusting documents nobody had really tested. I work with every client directly, from the scoping call to the signed report.
